Hot chocolate
WHY WE LOVE IT
Hot chocolate is a story in a cup—once a bitter, ceremonial “drink of the gods,” now a rich, creamy comfort we reach for again and again.
A LITTLE STORY
This journey began thousands of years ago in Central America, where the Aztecs and Mayans valued cacao so deeply they even used the beans as money. Originally enjoyed as a spicy, cold brew, it traveled across oceans to Europe, where it met sugar and milk, slowly transforming into the velvety classic we love today.
DID YOU KNOW?
The word “chocolate” comes from the Aztec xocolātl, meaning “bitter water.” While we usually drink it thin, in Spain and Italy, it’s still served rich and thick—sometimes enough to eat with a spoon.
